  • Teachers who effectively raise performance in the Los Angeles Unified School District receive little recognition for their success, The Los Angeles Times reports. This article, which focuses on the district's best teachers, is part of a continuing series. The newspaper analyzed value-added data--the measure of how much a student learns in a year--and used it to evaluate teachers in L.A.'s classrooms.
  • Want to know how much money your school or district might receive as part of the federal Education Jobs Bill? The Ohio Department of Education has now posted estimated allocations for schools and districts on its website. Ohio is estimated to receive $361 million of the $10 billion funding package.
