Gov. Ted Strickland was part of a team representing Ohio’s Race to the Top proposal in D.C. today, according to The Columbus Dispatch’s politics blog “The Daily Briefing.” Ohio is one of 16 finalists in the federal competition; U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan has said only a few finalists will win in this round.
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is taking steps to ensure the safety of students who will have to switch schools under its transformation plan, the Plain Dealer reports. Meetings for parents, students and other members of the community to share their safety and transportation concerns begin today.
