  • The Columbus Dispatch found that students in Ohio who use state vouchers to attend private schools rarely return to the public system. The exception may be students in the Cincinnati Public Schools, Dispatch reporter Jennifer Smith Richards reports in the paper’s blog. The vouchers are available to students whose assigned public schools are low-performing.
  • The U.S. Department of Education announced the priorities and the official grant application for its $650 million Investing in Innovation Fund earlier today. Individual districts can apply for part of the competitive grant; applications will be due in mid-May, according to a press release from the department. Applicants will be expected to provide research to support their proposals.
